Whistler Search and Rescue Society is a dedicated volunteer-driven organization that works tirelessly each year to keep our community safe and save lives. For many of us at The Beacon and throughout Whistler, WSAR has had a profound impact, and we are deeply grateful for their unwavering passion, commitment, and service to our community.

In January 2021, the Beacon tragically lost our dear friend and colleague, Jesse Van Roon, in a snowboarding accident on Whistler Mountain. Jesse was known for his infectious smile, positive energy, and love of adventure, always leading the charge on powder days. His presence and humor is deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Each January, the Beacon raises funds in honour of Jesse Van Roon with 100% of the proceeds going directly to WSAR. This year we are selling raffle tickets with amazing 1st and 2nd prizes. Each ticket costs $10 and 100% of that money goes to WSAR.

SECOND PLACE PRIZE:

  • $100 gift card to the Beacon

  • $100 gift card to the Raven Room Whistler

Raffle prizes will be drawn at our party on January 22nd with DJ Gainz from 4-8pm! We hope to see you there!
